Hen’s Teeth is delighted to announce Bahay as their official food partner launching on 25th May. The Irish-Filipino food project has been looking for a long-term home and will be taking over the kitchen at Dublin 8 event space and cultural spot Hen’s Teeth.

Bahay has become known as one of Ireland’s most exciting food concepts – bringing a delicious take on Filipino and Southeast Asian flavours and the best Irish ingredients to festivals and pop-ups across the country since 2021.

They will launch with a new menu to go alongside the Hen’s Teeth programme of art, music, food and private events – kicking off with music from Glenn Davis & Friends and a new Bahay dinner on Saturday, 25th May.

The menu includes much-loved faves from the Bahay crew, like “Inihaw na Manok” Chicken Skewers & “Longanisa Pandesal” Sweet Garlic Pork Sausage, Pinakurat Mayo, Atchara, Cheese Banana Ketchup. Plus some new classics: “Kare Kare” Beef Tongue, Aubergine, Greens, Bagoong, Peanut &  “Inasal” Grilled Cauliflower, Mango & Chilli Relish.

“Teaming up with the Hen’s Teeth crew is a genuine dream come true. The space they have built, and the cultural and artistic resource they have cultivated and built in a city where such spots have been dwindling over the last few years, is something we seriously admire and are elated to be a part of. We have been waiting for the right space, the right opportunity to come along so that we can continue to prosper, and grow from. Taking over the food offering at Hen’s Teeth gives stability, consistency and a place for Bahay to finally call home.” Richie Castillo & Alex O’Neill, Bahay

“Food has always been really important to what we do since moving into the Blackpitts spot – we ran a full restaurant service throughout Covid but the aftermath of the pandemic was famously tough on the industry. We stripped it all back, but are now in a position to build it back up by partnering with Bahay who are kindred spirits with a lot of the same cultural touch points as us – and their food is ridiculously delicious so we’re excited for them to bring their energy and flavours to our kitchen.” Rosie Gogan-Keogh & Greg Spring, Hen’s Teeth

Bahay will serve their delicious flavours at all Hen’s Teeth events – including cultural programing such as exhibitions and gigs, as well as corporate hires, weddings and private parties.

Alongside their food for these events, Bahay will pop up on regular Fridays and Saturdays month and take reservations for their new Bahay dinner menu. Reservations & upcoming dinner dates are available at www.hensteethdublin.com

About Bahay

Bahay is an Irish-Filipino food project, created by chef Richie Castillo and Alex O’Neill. Bahay started out as an Irish Filipino food truck, but has grown into a diverse food business with nationwide popups, restaurant takeovers, private and corporate events, and the world’s first Irish Filipino cookbook, Masarap which came out in late 2023 to critical acclaim.

Named after the Tagalog word for house/home, Bahay specialises in introducing people to Filipino Flavours created using the very best Irish ingredients. Bahay are known for their ability to bring a familiar “Bahay buzz” with warm hospitality, delicious food and carefully curated dining experiences in the spaces they pop up in, where they introduce diners to bold and unique Filipino flavours and fun dishes, such as their viral Longanisa battered sausage, their Filipino BBQ skewers, their creative twists on South East Asian street food, as well as their highly curated menus that are inspired from Richie’s background and extensive experience in fine dining.
