Due to overwhelming popular demand, Bison Bar & BBQ is delighted to announce that it’s free two-day BBQ and Whiskey Bonanza is back for another year this August 9th and 10th, in partnership with our pals at Jameson Black Barrel.
This two-day FREE BBQ Festival, spread across Dublin’s original BBQ restaurant, Bison Bar & BBQ, and The Workman’s Cellar, is set to be the perfect summer-sizzler, with a smokin’ hot schedule of seriously delicious BBQ specials, Whiskey experiences, live music, games, competitions and more coming your way. Saddle up and head on into Bison Bar & BBQ on 11 Wellington Quay to experience the serious taste of Ireland’s original and best barbeque this side of the Lone Star State.
This year’s festival will be hosted by Dublin’s own Shamim de Brún, a renowned drinks journalist whose love for whiskey has led her to explore the most extraordinary places. Shamim will bring her unique flair and expertise to the event, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
We’re cranking it up a notch this year for the BBQ and Whiskey enthusiasts. We will be hosting a ‘Whiskey & BBQ pairing demonstration’, a ‘Cocktail Workshop’ where you can learn to make the perfect Whiskey Sour, a series of ‘Hot Wing Challenges’ – enter if you dare! And a live whiskey barrel charring demonstration with Jameson Black Barrel. In addition to these, limited-edition tasting plates of our signature Bison dishes will be available, from pulled pork and marinated BBQ halloumi to succulent brisket.
As well as this, we’ve rounded up some of the best in the business to put on some unmissable experiences. There’ll be live music performances from acts like Dublin City Rounders and some of Ireland’s finest up and coming singers to get the party started. The Craic Den Comedy Club will be putting on a series of mini comedy shows, as well as games and a wheel of fortune with brilliant prizes!
We’re kicking off at 4pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday. Attendance is totally free, and walk-ins are welcome across the weekend, but the first 100 people to attend (50 each day) will receive a complimentary Bison Buck (worth €10!), redeemable against a Jameson cocktail or a Bison Bite food item all festival long.

- Bison x Jameson Black Barrel Cocktails: Delight in specially crafted cocktails made in collaboration with Jameson Black Barrel.
