October 2026: Luttrellstown Castle has launched the Christmas Through the Centuries festive afternoon tea inspired by the Castle’s rich history and centuries of tradition.
Set within the magnificent surroundings of the historic Castle, the experience brings together flavours from different eras, from medieval-inspired festive indulgences and Victorian afternoon tea favourites to contemporary creations.
Inspired by modern-day Luttrellstown, savoury offerings include a long-braised ham hock and wholegrain mustard pie, Irish smoked salmon with saffron-pickled fennel and Guinness bread, and a selection of delicate sandwiches.
The experience then travels back to the Victorian era with freshly baked plain and fruit scones served with clotted cream and homemade raspberry jam, alongside traditional Christmas mince pies, spiced gingerbread and chestnut, chocolate and orange financiers.
A nod to the castle’s Early Centuries comes in the form of a spiced pear and caramel Christmas tree and a decadent cranberry and Irish whiskey opera cake, combining dark chocolate, cranberry compote and Irish whiskey cream.
The festive experience is complemented by a specially created cocktail menu, including The Castle Orchid, a nod to Luttrellstown’s early centuriesblending Irish whiskey, orchard fruit, honey and orange bitters, and The Queen’s Visit, inspired by Queen Victoria’s royal visits for afternoon tea with Irish gin, elderflower, lemon and sparkling wine.
