Wine expert Tom Doorley shares his top picks for the cooler months as ALDI’s new-season wine collection arrives nationwide from September 8th

Speaking about the collection, Tom Doorley, wine expert and ALDI Ambassador, said: “The colder seasons are a great time to explore wines with a little more depth and character, from rich, full-bodied reds to beautifully balanced whites that work particularly well with comforting seasonal dishes. The Château Sabran Corbières €8.99 brings a little bottled sunshine to the season, with a rich and spicy blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Full of warmth and character, it’s the ideal partner for something delicious cooked with plenty of garlic and herbs. El Mito Rioja Crianza €11.49 is round and smooth, with just the right touch of oaky vanilla. Wonderfully versatile, it pairs beautifully with lamb and is an easy choice for a relaxed autumn dinner.

The Medoc Bordeaux €11.99 delivers a real Bordelaise style from Bordeaux’s Left Bank; with the classic character and depth you’d expect from the region. A rich and elegant red, the perfect addition to a winter’s night in.
