MIDWEEK CLUBBING? ABSOLUT-LY
‘ABSOLUT X’ takes you from desk to dancefloor with new midweek club event championing all female line up lead by Eliza Rose and Sally C
Absolut Vodka announced the latest installment of ‘ABSOLUT X’ – a series of clubbing events that celebrate the diversity of what Irish nightlife and club culture could and should be. On Wednesday, December 4th, ABSOLUT X will partner with Centre Point at The Button Factory to host its first ever midweek, afterwork club event headlined by Eliza Rose who will go B2B with Sally C. ABSOLUT X aims to answer the demands for innovation and diversity across club culture in Ireland.
The fourth installment of ABSOLUT X is trialing a midweek club experience with doors opening at 7.30pm and wrapping at 11.30pm taking you straight from desk to dancefloor and home for a full night’s sleep. December is the busiest month of the year for most with weekends booking up with work parties and family gatherings, forcing clubbers to sacrifice their club nights for the month. With this, ABSOLUT X is giving the gift of a bonus club night this December.
Vocalist, producer and DJ Eliza Rose will be headlining ABSOLUT X after her previously sold-out Dublin show. Rose continues to straddle both underground and global stardom after her worldwide smash hit ‘B.O.T.A (Baddest Of Them All)’ – the track that soared to Number One. Rose brings a hybrid DJ-plus-vocals show that pays homage to queer culture’s importance in dance music. Eliza Rose will be taking over Centre Point going B2B with Sally C, Belfast-born and Berlin-based DJ and Producer. Sally C has developed one of the most distinctive sonic signatures in electronic music that traverses the gamut of vintage house, hip house, acid and breakbeat, all with that unmistakable sound. Headliners will be supported by Irish DJs Dev and Puzzy Wrangler.
This all female line-up shows Absolut’s continued commitment to encouraging diversity and inclusion within clubbing culture in Ireland. This comes after a study from music tech company A2D2 released findings using data from DJ Mag’s Top 100 to show that female DJs are said to play twice as many shows as male DJs, revealing that women may have to work twice as hard as men to get the same recognition*. In a 2021 study from Protectivity, findings revealed that disappointingly just 21% of all artists performing at major UK festivals that year were female or female Identifying**. This all female lineup for Absolut X is a celebration of female led talent within the clubbing industry and support for a more diverse and inclusive space.
Taking place in the newly refurbished Centre Point at The Button Factory, ‘Absolut X’ will see Creative technology and world-class lighting innovations create a truly transcending experience on the dancefloor. Clubbers will have plenty of opportunities to sample a selection of Absolut Made to Mix cocktails and premium serves at the multiple bars. Sustainability is a key consideration with general wasted recycled and/or ethically disposed of.
