EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has joined forces with Urban Brewing to create a new limited edition beer. EPIC URBAN Brew is an International Pale Ale inspired by the journey of Irish people around the globe. The interactive museum is located next door to the brewery in the CHQ building with the best terrace for outdoor dining in Dublin’s Docklands.

Aileesh Carew, Director of Sales & Marketing for EPIC, says: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with our neighbours in Urban Brewing to create a beer dedicated to the Irish emigration story that EPIC tells. We think a tasting on Urban Brewing Suntrap terrace is the perfect finish to a visit to EPIC.”

Over 10 million Irish people left the island over the centuries and the ingredients of EPIC URBAN Brew have been gathered from countries around the world to reflect the scale of that journey. An IPA with rye malt for a peppery, spice character, Hops from US & Germany, English Ale yeast & Lemon Verbena from Argentina, ingredients inspired by the Irish diaspora.

Leo E. Vasileiou, Director of Urban Brewing, says: “We’re excited to unveil the latest in our series of limited edition beers. For us this beer combines Urban Brewing’s contemporary approach to beer making with Ireland’s rich brewing history. We spent a long time creating the right recipe which captures so many countries where the Irish travelled to.”

The beer’s summery character has been described by Urban’s brewer as having refreshing lemon green nuances, balanced with a spiced character from the rye malt, tropical and citrus flavours and aromas from the hops.
