Cocktail connoisseurs are in for a unique treat as Pig’s Lane is set to welcome one of the World’s Top 50 bars for a one-night-only takeover. On Saturday, March 29th, acclaimed mixologist Stanislav Harciník from The Mirror Bar in Slovakia will bring the bar’s award-winning cocktail experience to Killarney’s underground speakeasy bar.

The Mirror Bar ambassador will create four extraordinary cocktails on the night.  Each one will be a symphony of refined flavours and tales, ensuring a truly sensory-rich experience.

The team from the distinguished cocktail lounge located within the historic Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in Bratislava, has won a host of global accolades for the bespoke experience that it offers guests – harmoniously fusing class, art, and nature into a one-of-a-kind experience.

Mirror Bar’s Stanislav Harciník is a distinguished Slovak bartender, author, and educator, renowned for his contributions to modern mixology. His influence and inspiration on the global bartending scene blends tradition with modernity to elevate the art of cocktail creation. Bartenders and cocktail connoisseurs will recognise him as the author of the comprehensive bar textbook The Cocktail Balance, and The Cocktail Balance 2.0, released in November 2024, which explores advanced mixology methods, and sustainability practices.

In what is expected to be a truly memorable evening, guests at Pig’s Lane will have the chance to taste a selection of Mirror Bar’s artistic and innovative cocktails including the Tequilla and Fino Sherry-based Lux which pays tribute to light and nature; Elton’s Cosmopolitan inspired by the iconic singer Elton John who visited the hotel during his European Tour; the gin-based Explorer`s Fizz which was crafted to honour Norwegian explorer, Fridjof Nansen who conducted the first expedition to Greenland; and the rum-based Cerebro of AI which takes inspiration from artificial intelligence and the rules it should follow. With Stan’s unmatched creativity and meticulous attention to detail, it promises to be a truly sensory taste experience with stunning new flavours and visuals to experience and photograph.

The versatile drinks menu at Pig’s Lane will also be available throughout the event, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. This event kicks off at 7pm, with a DJ playing till late.

This is the third takeover at Pig’s Lane, following on from previous collaborations with CASK and Dublin’s BAR 1661. Open just over 18 months, Pig’s Lane has rapidly gained recognition for its distinctive and creative take on hospitality. Its quickly earned reputation for quality, style, and sustainability was recognised when it won ‘Innovative Bar of the Year’ at the 2024 Bar of the Year Awards.

Two-time World Championship Bartender and Drinks Development Manager for the O’Donoghue Ring Collection and Pig’s Lane, Ariel Sanecki said of the upcoming takeover; “It’s very rare that an international Top 50 Bar comes to Ireland to do a takeover so we are incredibly excited about this special evening. Pig’s Lane, the first underground venue in Kerry, boasts a curated cocktail menu with innovative local ingredients, bespoke organic wines, a hidden whiskey parlour with over 300 whiskeys, a snacks and light bites menu boasting local provenance and eclectic live music, all set in a beautifully crafted subterranean bar. It has been developed by the innovative and sustainably-minded family-run team behind the award-winning Café du Parc, The Tan Yard and O’Donoghue Public House – the O’Donoghue Ring Collection. The name Pig’s Lane is a nod to the former name of the original site on which the new bar now stands. In the early 1800’s, Pig’s Lane ran from College Street to near Railway Road.
